What Spring Cleanup Includes
Removing branches, sticks, and debris that came down over winter. Raking and removing dead grass and leaves missed in fall cleanup. Dethatching where needed. Edging bed lines and walkways. Cleaning up gravel and sand that got pushed onto lawns by plows. Clearing winter damage from perennial beds. Hauling everything away — we don't leave piles.
Timing
Most Upper Valley spring cleanups happen in the second half of April and through May, depending on elevation, sun exposure, and how wet the ground is. Wet bottomland properties need to wait longer than south-facing hillsides. We schedule based on actual conditions, not the calendar.
Why It Matters
Properties that get a real spring cleanup look noticeably better all summer. Lawns recover faster from winter compaction. Beds look intentional instead of neglected. Skipping it makes the first few mowings look messy because the mower keeps catching debris and tearing up the lawn.
